Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 April 2026

Commission Careers is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.

Who we are

Commission Careers helps connect people with mortgage adviser and insurance adviser opportunities in New Zealand. In some cases, we work with trusted partner organisations, including Mortgage Lab and Maurice Trapp Group, to review applications and assess fit for available roles.

What information we collect

We may collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, location, career interests, experience, accreditation status, CV, and any other details you choose to provide through our website.

We may also collect website usage data, such as device information, browser information, and page activity, to help us improve the website and understand how people use it.

How we collect information

Most personal information is collected directly from you when you complete a form, contact us, upload a CV, or interact with the website.

We may also receive information indirectly from another person or organisation. For example, someone may refer you for a role, provide your details to help introduce you to an opportunity, or include information about another person in an application or enquiry.

Indirect collection and IPP 3A

From 1 May 2026, New Zealand privacy law includes additional obligations where personal information is collected indirectly, meaning from someone other than the individual concerned.

If we receive personal information about you from another person, we may need to take reasonable steps to let you know that your information has been collected, why it was collected, who may receive it, and how you can access or correct it, unless a legal exception applies.

This may be relevant if an applicant, referrer, adviser, recruiter, or other third party provides information about another individual through our website or related recruitment process.

Why we collect your information

We collect and use personal information to:

  • assess interest in mortgage adviser and insurance adviser opportunities
  • contact you about relevant roles, next steps, and related enquiries
  • match applicants with suitable partner organisations
  • review experience, qualifications, and fit
  • respond to questions and provide support
  • maintain website security, administration, and performance

Who we may share information with

We may share personal information with trusted service providers and partner organisations where reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. This can include:

  • Mortgage Lab
  • Maurice Trapp Group
  • technology providers who support our website, hosting, storage, communications, or form processing
  • professional advisers where required for legal or operational reasons

We do not sell personal information.

How we hold and protect information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No system is completely risk free, but we use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards for a website and recruitment context.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for recruitment, relationship management, legal compliance, record keeping, and operational purposes.

Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate.

Cookies and website analytics

We may use cookies and similar technologies to understand website traffic, improve performance, and support a better user experience. You can manage cookie settings through your browser.
